Can I rent a specific vehicle model?

Rental companies do not guarantee the booking of a vehicle by make, model, color or specific configuration. They work with vehicle groups and these groups are composed by several models. This is why in the list of available cars the legend “…or similar” is included.
The holder of the reservation may choose one of the available vehicles at the rental location the day they sign the agreement, provided it belongs to the group specified in the reservation.
If there is no car available in the given group, you will be offered a vehicle from the next category at no extra charge.

May another person, other than the holder of the reservation, drive?

Only if you’ve paid for an “Additional driver”. Otherwise, the only one authorized to drive is the holder of the reservation.
Rental companies offer the option of adding an additional driver. The person named additional driver will be subject to the same rights and obligations as the main driver.
This service is charged as an extra item and the price may vary according to the rental company chosen.

Can I include more than one additional driver in the rental agreement?

Yes. Rental companies offer the possibility of including more than one additional driver, who will be subject to the same requirements as the main driver. Each additional driver implies an additional charge and the price is different for each rental company.

How do I add a baby or infant car seat in my booking?

You may request a baby or infant car seat when processing the online reservation (we will show you the available additional services/items).
If you have already made the reservation, you can always enter BookingCars and modify it, or contact us through any of the available communication channels.
You will have to pay a charge for the baby or infant car seat at the time of pick-up.
Unfortunately, we can only request additional services/items but not guarantee them.

In fact, due to logistic and availability reasons, BookingCars always recommends taking your own baby or infant car seat.

What insurance coverage can I purchase at the rental office?

The different rental companies offer many kinds of additional coverage, the extension of the partial coverage for collision (SCDW) being the most common.
Based on the company, the SCDW may:

  • Cover parts of the vehicle not covered by the Partial Coverage for Collision (like windows or tires)
  • Reduce the deductible (the maximum amount that the company would be responsible for in case of damages to parts covered by the basic protection of the vehicle)
  • Set the deductible on zero (or eliminated it), so it is not necessary to leave a deposit at the time of pick-up or pay for possible damages on parts covered by said protection
What additional services/items can I hire?

Depending on the destination and the company, you may choose from a wide range of additional services/items:

  • Baby car seats
  • Snow chains
  • Luggage rack
  • GPS
  • Additional driver
  • First full tank of fuel

How can I purchase additional services/items?

You may request them in our website or at the time of pick up.
Rental companies do not allow you to pay for additional services/items in advance since availability can only be guaranteed at the time of pick-up. You may request them but not pay for them (they are always paid at destination).
The additional services/items available in BookingCars are:

  • Baby car seat
  • Snow chains
  • Luggage rack
  • GPS
  • Additional driver (can be prepaid in BookingCars)
  • First full tank of fuel (can be prepaid in BookingCars)
What is the Shuttle or Delivery service?

This is a service offered by rental companies that do not have offices at an airport. In this case, they go and pick you up and take you to their office or they will take the vehicle to where you are. Don’t worry, if this is the case, you will be notified during the booking process, so that you can decide.

What is SunPass?

SunPass is an electronic toll system that is ESSENTIAL in Florida since hardly any highway in Miami or Orlando accepts cash. You can get it directly at the time of pick up.
There are two types of SunPass: unlimited or per toll. If your idea is to travel a lot by car, for example, from Miami to Orlando, it is recommended that you purchase the unlimited pass since tolls are pricey. Now, if your idea is to only drive around in Miami, you should get the per toll pass or, maybe, not get SunPass at all.
Unfortunately, you cannot choose between one option or the other, it’s all up to the rental company. And also remember that this can only be purchased at the front desk, at the time of pick up.
